This week I just have to start off with one of the most amazing
miracles in my whole mission! This week we were able to have one of
our awesome investigators, W_____come to sacrament. He came and was
sitting with us just during the meeting being reverent and it was
really good! The meeting was really good and spiritual and it I was
just glad he was there. W_____has been really close to baptism but
just hasn't been able to do it. He is completely ready, but is just
wondering if he should make the last step pretty much just into the
font. So we are sitting there in sacrament and he just turned to my
companion and said, "今日バプテスマを受けます!” (Today, I will be baptized) We
were shocked! We didn't really know what to say! He hasn't quite had
his baptismal interview yet so he has a couple things left to do, so
we just explained that we will do it as soon as possible. He is going
to be really busy next Sunday, so we will be baptizing him this
Thursday! Such an amazing miracle that God does take care of it for
us. We really didn't do anything, but he was prepared and he will now
be baptized! The best part is that he really wants to be baptized
when it is raining, and it is supposed to maybe rain on Thursday, so
if everyone could please just pray this week that it will rain on
Thursday in Tokyo that would be amazing! We are really excited for
that and just can't wait to see how happy he will be after baptism.
This week other than that has been amazing! A pretty normal week,
but something special that we had was that we had our Zone Conference,
where we get to learn from the Assistants and President Budge! It was
an amazing conference, and I really felt like I was able to learn so
much from President Budge, and was able to learn how I can be a better
missionary. Something that I really loved was that President really
wants us to put more focus on Church attendance. I love this. Just
like we saw with W_____'s miracle, he came to church and he was able
to have a change of heart! It is amazing and super powerful at
church. Elder Egbert and I are really excited to start working with
the Zone to put more focus on people to sacrament meeting.
This week the Cherry Blossoms are coming out and it is AMAZING. I
am blown away by how pretty they are and I will try to send as many
pictures as I possibly can. The four of us took a bike ride this
morning to a really famous river in Tokyo, where there are just miles
of "sakura," (cherry blossom trees) and it is right in the middle of
the city! We took lots of pictures so I will send a picture email
today! Japan is a really amazing place.
I wish I had more time than I do today, but hopefully the pictures
will help! I do just want to let you all know how happy I am. I am
just so happy! There truly is no joy like the joy you feel as a
missionary. Helping these people and inviting these people is the
best thing I have ever done. I am absolutely loving my mission and I
am so grateful. I always used to hear that you had to get to your
year or you had to get a way into your mission to feel comfortable
here in Japan speaking Japanese, and I just feel way to blessed that I
feel comfortable now, and I am having as much fun as I am. I love
this area and I love this work! I am so grateful for the opportunity
I have to share the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon with people. I
know that it literally can change lives. I know that as I work my
hardest to focus on these people and help them change, I too will
change for the better and I am so grateful for that! I love you all
so much and I am so grateful for all your amazing support! Please
have an amazing week, and I will talk to you soon!
Love,
Logan
