So I just have to start today by telling a story that happened this
week that was kinda funny. So this week we got a referral from some
missionaries in the South Mission. It was a guy named S________,
who had interest in God and wanted to meet again, and lives in
Shibuya. So we got his information and called him up to see when he
could meet! He could meet on Sunday, around 3, so we said that was
perfect. However, he said that he wanted to meet outside of Shibuya
station..which at the time we didn't think was a big deal. We get
there at 3 and there are literally THOUSANDS of people outside the
exit of shibuya station that he wanted to meet at because it was the
side of Shibuya Crossing! So there we are, standing there waiting for
a 30 year old Japanese man in the middle of thousands of Japanese
people. You could say it was kinda like finding a needle in a
haystack haha. But, we called him up and he was able to find
us(because we definitely could not find him) and we were able to talk
with him! We actually walked back to the church and we were able to
show him around and teach a really good Restoration lesson with him
and he is going to read and pray about the Book of Mormon! It ended
up being really good! Just kind of funny trying to find the guy!
This week has just been another crazy week. That is the only thing
about being a Zone Leader that I just didn't really realize is just
how busy you really are! But I love it. It has been so much fun to
have a chance to serve the missionaries in the Zone, and I have really
had a chance to get to know so many more missionaries it has been
awesome! This weekend I had the chance to go on exchanges down in the
Tokyo 2nd ward with a missionary named Elder Barray! He is such a
cool missionary and he is from France but is perfect in English! It
was a pretty crazy exchange though because the Tokyo 2nd ward is a
english ward! So we went around all day trying to find people who
could speak english! It was the weirdest thing for me ever trying to
teach these people on the street, because I have never done that
before! It was honestly kinda intense, because I felt like it was a
lot more personal when it was in my native language! But that also
made it really cool. It
was an amazing experience and we saw some amazing miracles! We were
able to get a handful of numbers and found a lot of cool people who do
want to learn more!
So, I guess the big update for this week is the new tool that we
have been given as Zone Leaders here in the Tokyo, Japan mission. We
have been given the OK to use Facebook for missionary purposes! It is
pretty intense! I have spent the last couple of days "cleaning up" my
facebook so that it looks like I am a missionary and so that I can use
it here! So now we will be able to get peoples facebook information
so that we can contact them and have a chance to teach them the gospel
either through facebook, or communicate through facebook and then meet
somewhere to talk. The world is changing! It really is an amazing
opportunity to use this amazing tool, however there are definitely a
lot of risks and dangers with this so, I have to send out an email to
all those that I love and are friends with on facebook! I love you
all. You are all ok to be my friend, however if I get emails or
messages or posts on my wall from you I have to un-friend you...what
this will do is you will still be able to see my page and everything,
but I won't be able to see stuff that you do, and that is just so that
I can stay focused! So, if nothing gets posted, I won't have to
un-friend you if that makes sense! I am really excited for the
opportunity to use this tool, and it is going to be so effective!
Just these last couple of weeks we have been playing soccer with some
friends who invited us to play every Saturday and it is awesome but we
can't really just go around asking for everyone's numbers as easy as
getting everyones facebooks! It is going to be a pretty amazing tool
that is for sure!
Well, that is about all the time that I have for today, so I best be
off! But I want all of you to know how much I love you, how much I
look up to you, and how much I pray for you! I love this gospel and I
love this work. I love Japan and all, but I would not spend two years
here away from all those that I love if this was not true. I love
you, and I will talk to you all soon!
All my love,
Logan
