Everyone!
It is just weird. I feel like the weeks are getting way too fast it
is scary! Today when I was studying, it was so weird because I just
literally just thinking about how I wish we had more time in the week
so that we can get more done! I think that is why it is going so fast
is because right now in Shibuya we are just sooo busy! But it is so
fun. I am having the most fun I have had on my mission, and we are
seeing tons of miracles and seeing success! I really feel like God is
just blessing us so much with so much because we are just trying our
hardest. Haha me and Elder Egbert are definitely not the perfect
missionaries. But we know that. We just are workin hard and honestly
God is just kinda taking care of things! My testimony is being
strengthened every day as we continue to see miracles and blessings
God has given us.
This week! This week was a really busy one. Elder Egbert and I
really felt like we were just all over the place! Something really
cool that happened this week was we had the chance to go on exchanges
with the Nakano Elders! I got to leave Shibuya and go to Nakano to
work for a day! It is always way fun to get leave your little area
for a day and have a chance to work with someone else! I got to go
and work with a younger missionary Elder Michelsen. In Nakano right
now, they don't have tons of people they are teaching, so we had a day
of finding planned! So, we just headed out and started finding! It
was a lot of fun to get out and do some finding! We went out and
started talking to as many people as we could. I really wanted to be
able to find some people for this area and so I had prayer in my heart
the whole time and was just really hoping to find some prepared
people. After a while I stopped this really nice guy who wanted to
learn english. We talked for a while and then I learned that he was
interested in Jesus Christ! I told him that we teach a thing or two
about Christ, and grabbed his number and set an appointment for the
next week! It was a miracle and was really such a blessing to be able
to help in any way that I could! By the end of the day we were able
to get 2 phone numbers and appointments with people!
It has been a really good week, but I think the biggest thing I think
I learned this week was a little bit of humility haha. Last week we
had an amazing week with people, but this week we had kinda a harder
week. I felt really confused and a little bummed, but we are both
extra determined to do well this week now, and I know that we are
going to be able to see huge miracles. I'm sorry that this is so
short! I have not tons of time, but I love being a missionary! I
can't tell you enough how happy I am just living in Tokyo teaching
people about the thing that makes me more happy than anything. It is
a blessing that is for sure! I am grateful for you all and all you
do! I love you and I will talk to you all soon!

Week 45! Hit the ground running!
This has been just an incredible week! Seriously one of the best
weeks in my mission. I don't know what it was, but this week me and
Elder Egbert wanted it bad, we worked way hard and we saw amazing
miracles! It was a very busy week. We had lots of stuff that we had
to plan for the zone, and we actually had our zone meeting on Friday
so we had to prepare a lot of stuff for that! But, even though we
were really busy with lots of "business" work, we fought for time to
meet with our investigators and we saw huge miracles.
This week, as Zone leaders, we really wanted to show everyone that we can
be teaching more and that we should be getting closer to these
Standards of Excellance that President Budge has given us. So we went
out and just worked. We were working to just teach as many people as
we could, and as many investigators as we could and when we weren't
teaching, we were planning for Zone Conference. I don't know what it
was but something was just helping us be able to meet with everyone we
wanted to. It just goes to show that God is hastening his work, and
all we have to do is just work our hardest and he really takes care of
the rest! We ended up this week having done really well
"statistically" which obviously doesn't really matter, but what does
matter is that all those people that we were able to teach, were
really able to come so much closer to Christ than they would have if
we didn't meet with them. It was just a really amazing week! Me and
Elder Egbert are really just working together super well right now.
We both have the same goals and are working really closely together to
help this area and this zone see tons of success and baptisms! I am
so grateful for Elder Egbert and for his great example to me and how
much I have been able to learn from him and continue to learn from
him. He is an amazing missionary!
This week was easter! it was really fun to be teaching everyone why
this sunday was so special and the best part was we were able to show
everyone the "because of him" video! I actually have it downloaded on
my ipad, and so we could show anyone we wanted the video! It was such
a great way to teach! It brings the spirit so strongly and they
really feel like even if they don't understand fully what happened,
that it is important and they want you to teach them. I love this
video. If you haven't watched it, check it out. It really has
strengthened my testimony so much! It also is such a blessing that we
have these ipads to be able to use for missionary work. i am pretty
convinced that God helped these things be created merely for preaching
the gospel. they are amazing tools. i was talked to a soon to be
mission president in kobae japan that there are 400 missions in the
world and only 38 have ipads. we are the first international mission
to have them and so it truly is such a blessing, but also a big
responsibility! The Brethren are always watching the Tokyo Japan
mission and it is exciting, but also pretty intense!
Life here is just going great here in Tokyo! Things are really just
going way good and I really feel like me and Elder Egbert just hit the
ground running this transfer and we are going to see amazing things!
if you all could just pray for T_____ this week, that his mom will let
him be baptized that would be amazing! I love you all and hope you
know I pray for each of you every night! Talk to you soon!

Week 44! Cherry Blossoms!
Dear family!
This week was a really great week! We really had a fun time and we saw
huge miracles! This week we were able to see W_____ be baptized! It
was so fun to see him feel the spirit and be so happy after received
baptism. I definitely feel like that is where the joy is. It has been
amazing to see how W____ has changed his life and really become a
much better person! This Sunday if he was able to come to church and
he received the Holy Ghost which was also really amazing! When the
member who gave him the Holy Ghost said, "receive the Holy Ghost!" I
really felt the Spirit really strongly and so did W_____. I'm so
grateful for the spirit! This is truly what converts them! I know that
as missionaries as we continue to try to teach by the spirit and
continue to help our investigators feel the spirit that is what is
going to help them be converted. This was a great week!
Something that was really fun this week was me and Elder Egbert got to
go on exchanges with Elder Hall. It's always great to Dendo with Elder
hall, especially to be working with him and it was also a great
opportunity to learn a lot a lot from him I'm really grateful for his
great example. This week I feel like I was able to learn a lot from
him. As Zone Leaders we get to go on exchanges with the assistants. It
is a great learning opportunity, and I'm so grateful that I was able
to have the opportunity! Something that I learned from Elder hall, is
that as we become united as a mission, that is where we will see the
miracles! This week we were also able to have MLC which is something
that we get to go to a zone leaders and sister training leaders. MLC
is an amazing meeting! We always feel the spirit very strongly and we
always get to learn very special things from President Budge! It
really helps us get united as leaders in the mission! Also, we're able
to hear President Budge's new vision! It's always so exciting to hear
the new revelation that President Budge has received. Right now in the
mission, we are really focusing a lot on church attendance. We
realize, that at church we know that the investigators can feel the
spirit and through that spirit they can be converted. It is really
exciting but we have a new goal as a mission which is to have more
investigators come to church in every ward then missionaries! We are
going to try to do this as a mission as soon as possible! I am really
excited for this new goal. I really think that this is the right
direction for the mission! If we hit this goal we would have over 240
investigators come to church in one week. That would be a miracle!
I'm really excited to see the mission work towards this goal. Please
continue to pray for the missionaries in Tokyo Japan mission to be
able to see their friends come to church every week!
In Japan right now the cherry blossoms are bloomed! It is crazy to me
how fast that these trees go from fully bloomed to no flowers on them!
I think it is really cool that they still plant these trees so that
they can still have only one and a half weeks of cherry blossoms! How
cool! The cherry blossoms really are so pretty and so amazing! I will
try to send more pictures today, but being in Tokyo there are not tons
of places to go see cherry blossomsc but I tried my best!
Today, we had a chance to go to the temple! It was so amazing! I love
the temple. Every time I go to the temple, I come out of it so
spiritually uplifted! Today, there was a new movie in the temple! It
was so good! The new movie was a good change of pace. I thought that
the new movie taught a lot of things really well. I also loved how it
was a lot more exciting! The church is amazing. It really is amazing
all of the things that the church is doing right now at! I haven't
been able to watch general conference yet, but I am so excited to hear
from our beloved prophet Pres. Thomas S Monson, and hear all of the
revelation that the prophet, and apostles have for us! We will have
the chance to watch general conference in Nakano with some of our
investigators and recent converts. I am really excited to be able to
go Nakano, watch general conference, and learn very much through the
Spirit from our beloved church leaders! They always seem to teach
right to me! I am going to go into general conference having some
questions, and I'm excited to have them answered by our beloved
leaders! Gen. conference is so amazing!
Well I am sorry that I don't have more today, it was a really great
week but it seems like it was a pretty normal missionary week. I am
really excited for this next week though, because it is transfer week
again! Can you believe how fast this transfer has gone!? I can't
either! To end today I would really like to just bare my testimony on
how amazing this work is. I feel so blessed to be a missionary right
now in the Japan Tokyo mission. It is amazing to be a missionary! I am
so grateful for this opportunity to be a missionary, because I really
feel like it is helping me prepare for the rest of my life to be a
worthy church member! Becoming a missionary is just the first step of
lifelong missionary work! I really want to try and help them the
church grow even after my mission, but I know that on a mission this
is where I will learn the things I need to learn to become the kind of
son father and husband I want to become! I am so blessed to be able to
learn all of these things on a mission! It really is true what they
say about being a missionary changes your life and is the best two
years for you life. I love you all and I hope that you have a great
week! Talk to you soon!
