Week 34!

Week 3 of no big email!!! Grrrr!

DID YOU SEND BACK THE SHOES?

1.  I am going to try and send them back..we will see if I can do it!  I want to try..but it is kind of a pain..we don't have tons of time today but hopefully!

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR NEW COMPANION. DOES HE HAVE A BLOG?

2.  I LOVE my new companion!  His name is Elder Lammintaus and he is from Finland!  He is so funny and way cool, I can't wait for this transfer!  He says he doesn't have one..but he is just the best.

HOW IS IT AS DISTRICT LEADER? ANY SISTERS IN YOUR DISTRICT? HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO SEE ELDER HALL?

3.  District leader job is just way fun..seriously loving it.  We still only have elders in the district, but its way fun!  I see elder hall a lot actually!  Just at conferences and stuff..but i love him.  seriously everytime we see each other its just the best.  Best friends for life!

HOW ARE YOUR BELTS HOLDING UP? HOW ABOUT SHIRTS?

4.  Belts are perfect!  And white shirts are doing great too!  Everything is holding up pretty good!

ANY TREATS YOU ARE CRAVING? I KNOW YOU SAID YOU DONT EAT TREATS ANYMORE BUT HEY IT IS VALENTINES TIME!

5.  I just lovedddd the peanut m&m's last time..seriously those and kitkats and just american stuff..I actually am fine with you sending me sweets because i will just eat sweets from america and then when i don't have sweets I won't!  It will be a good balance I think?

ANY NEW INVESTIGATORS?

6.  Um right now we have a man who is going to get baptized really soon named l_____.  He is a chinese man and is seriously my favorite I love him so much!  He has a date for the 27 of february but it is going to get moved up to the 9th cause he is so prepared!  so amazing he is just the best.

YOU STILL SLEEPING COMFY AND WARM?

7.  Yes sleeping perfect:) I'm so glad I brought that blanket it's been the best!

HOW OFTEN DO YOU HAVE DISTRICT MEETINGS AND ZONE CONFERENCES?

8.  Um we have a district meeting every friday, and zone meeting once a transfer..and zone conferences every other transfer!

ANY GOALS YOU ARE CHALLENGING YOUR DISTRICT RIGHT NOW?

9.  Right now, for the district we have set the goal just to use this new tool that i gave them last transfer.  It is like a scripture topical guide..and so that is all right now!  But its really good!  Love my district!

 

Sounds like things are going so good at home!  I love you so much and miss you!  But..being a missionary rocks so..sorry:)  Be home before you know it!  Just got a few hundred more people to baptize real quick..:)

Week 33!

AGAIN, he said he was swamped and couldn't get a long letter out. :( here are answers to more questions this week. 

Dear Mom!

 

  I love you so much!  Here are my answers:)

 DID YOU GET YOUR PACKAGE?

1.  I got your package.  YOU ARE AMAZING! I am way too blessed seriously..I am so lucky to have such an amazing mother.  I love you so much!  I love it all!  I especially loved the hoodie:)  Made me so happy!  I love it, thank you!

ARE YOU LOSING WEIGHT?

2.  I actually feel like I am staying the same..Not really loosing any!  I do feel like I am a little more out of shape than I used to be..because like we have 30min of excersize every morning but it isn't very much..but it's all good!

HOW ARE YOUR SLACKS HOLDING UP? HOW MANY DO YOU HAVE THAT YOU'RE WEARING BESIDES YOUR SUIT PANTS?

3.  Slacks are good!  Right now I am wearing 4 pairs of pants...two that I just barely bought, and the two slim ones you sent me in the MTC....But thats it..I'm not wearing any of the Mr.mac pants...:/ do you think I can take them back?  Or send them back?..:)  I don't know maybe just ask?  Cause they were expensive..and I have not ever worn them, or will not ever wear them...could be worth looking into!

DID YOU ENJOY SEEING THAT FAMOUS USHIKU DAIBUTSU?

4.  I loved looking at the statue!  Pretty amazing right?  I actually heard that it was the second biggest in the world right behind the Christ statue in rio deginero?  Amazing place I would love you to see it some day!

WHAT HAPPENED WITH TRANFERS?

5.  Transfers happened!  I am staying in Mito, and it is becoming a 4 man!  I will be training a brand new missionary..and elder nielson will be staying with me and another new missionary will be coming in elder hawkes!  Elder allred is transferring...:(  but yeah I am really excited to be staying!  Oh and I will stay district leader!

WILL PRESIDENT BUDGE BE THERE YOUR WHOLE MISSION?

6.  Yess President Budge will leave like right when I leave!  Perfect right?:)

JUST SEND BACK THE SHOES AND TELL US HOW MUCH THEY COSTAND WE'LL COVER IT. 

7.  Ok.  I will start working on the shoes and let you know the price!  I will send them next pday..so we will get that going!  If they don't let you just take money then I would like some black tie ups of the ecco's.  thank you!  Your amazing!

8.  I got all the audio files!  I actually haven't had the chance to listen to them..but I will tonight I think!  can't wait:)

Went to a cool park with a new investigator!

Week 32!

Logan didn't have time to write a big email this week so I thought I would cut and paste part of his questions he answered and his little email to me. 

HOW IS THE WEATHER?

1.  The weather is pretty cold here..but I have some good warm clothes and so right now I am doing perfect!  Staying very warm:)

DO YOU WANT TO SEND BACK YOUR SHOES THAT DON'T FIT?

2.  So what is the story with Mr. Mac?  I don't think it would be too expensive..and I could send some of the Christmas presents with them..maybe like 30ish dollars?  I am very close to a post office so just let me know and I will get on that!

HOW ARE YOUR PROSPECT INVESTIGATORS?

3.  So investigators are going ok..the one is not really progressing very much but we are praying a lot for him and really think that we can get him close to baptism by the end of this month.  Continue the prayers!

ANY FUN DINNER APOINTMENTS LATELY?

4.  We had a great dinner appointment on New Years if I haven't already told you..I was really great and we ate some really yummy octopus, shrimp heads, seaweed rolls..It was way yummy you would have loved it;)

IS IT GETTING EASIER BEING DISTRICT LEADER?

5.  District leader is well not really getting easier..but I think I am just figuring it out a little bit. However, the more I figure out about it, the more I want to be able to be better and improve!  So..It's going really well.  We will see what happens next week for transfer calls!  Can you believe it is already next week?  Crazy.

HOW IS YOUR WATCH HOLDING UP?

6.  My watch is AWESOME!  The only thing is that the little strap that holds the strap to the strap...if that makes anysense...is gone..I don't really know what happened to it.  So right now I am using a rubberband..so if those can be ordered, that would be awesome!  I don't know if that is possible, if not I might be able to find something that would work here so just let me know!

DID YOU GET YOUR ODOMETER FOR YOUR BIKE TO WORK? DID YOU GET A NEW RIM YET?

7.  Yes I got it to work finally!  I figured it out and it is working!  And yess, I bought a new rim and it was kind of a nightmare...$67.00 later..OUCH.  I am so sorry.  I am very careful with my bike but that rim has just been bad since I bought it.  So that should be good now.

HOW WAS THE TEMPLE?

8.  The temple was incredible.  I can not believe how close I can feel to the savior in the temple.  I love it.  I can't wait to bring you there when you and dad come pick me up:)

 

"Hey mom, so basically I got just a tiny little bit more time right before bed tonight for emails, and I was hoping to have enough time to send out a big email, but I did not get enough time..today was crazy!  Lots of fun and really just an amazing experience, but I just am exhausted and can't wait to get in bed..haha.  Just know that I love you and I promise I will try to be better about the big email!  Maybe I will just start my email time by sending one of those..anyways love you so much have a good week and tell everyone I love them!!!

あけましてお目手とございます！Happy New Year! Week 31!

おうはいよ皆さん！

 

  Happy New Year!  I hope that everyone had an incredible New Year and had a lot of fun! Here in Japan, the people are pretty crazy.  It is actually the biggest holiday in Japan in the whole year, and so people do a lot of crazy things!  So we actually stayed inside for New Years Eve and New Years day to do our yearly cleaning and then a Book of Mormon reading day!  It was a lot of fun!  I definitely think that it was just so that we were safe and in our apartments during that time, but it was way nice to get the apartment deep cleaned(even though we live in the newest apartment in Japan) and then spend the next day just strengthening our testimonies!  Pretty amazing.  I have just the strongest testimony of the Book of Mormon.  It has such amazing power, and I am so grateful to have it in my life, and to have it as a missionary!  It is the perfect missionary tool.

 

  The work is really going well!  Like I said this week we kind of had two days where we were in our apartment just kind of staying inside and not really dendo'n so that was kind of hard for this week, but we are really excited for this next week and have some really amazing people we are working with to get closer to baptism!  We actually were able to set a baptismal date this week with a man named Y______! We are so excited.  His date is for the 26th of this month and he really has the desire to change his life.  He has some word of wisdom problems, but he wants to quit and we really think that through meeting with us and trying to change his life, God will help him quit those things so that he can be baptized.  Please pray for Y______! There is so much power in prayer, and I know that being united in prayer will help his baptism happen.  I am so lucky to have such amazing support back home!  Thank you for all the prayers and fasts!  I know that miracles are happening because of you and your faith!

 

  Right now we really do have some amazing people, and one of them is a man named E______!  He is from ***** and he is one of the coolest people I have even met!  He has lived in Japan not very long, but in ****** he is a very famous singer!  His music is amazing! I actually have some of his music he let me have, so when I get home I am listening to him!  He is incredible!  We met him at the station and he really wanted to meet again.  So we went to lunch with him and he was way open about religion.  He said that he loves the bible and just loves God and really thinks that he can have God with him at any time, not just at a temple or a church or something.  So we told him we believe the same thing!  We gave him a Book of Mormon and we are planning on meeting with him again this week!  So excited to see how things go with him, we really think that he has been prepared and is ready to hear our message!

 

  I am so grateful to be here in Japan right now.  It is so amazing to me to see the work being hastened right before my eyes, and really just seeing how the Lord's hand is helping with the work.  I know that we are not alone here as missionaries.  The Lord is working right along side us and I am just so grateful that he allows us to take part in this amazing work.  I am so blessed with an amazing family, and amazing friends that support me!  Thank you so much for all your prayers they help!  I have a strong testimony on the power of prayer.  Everyone have a great week going back to school this week and be safe!  I love you all so much and I am constantly praying for you!
